Looking for a chatbot (that isn’t as expensive as Drift)
Hi All,
I don’t do a lot with chatbots, so I could really use some help with this one.
I have a client that’s interested in using a chatbot. Specifically, it would be nice if it could….
- Route you to a live person on their customer support during office hours
- Have some pre-defined content/options for non-business hours/or if the visitor can find the info they’re looking for within the chat bot
- Read data from the website, or more importantly, a Google Sheet.
- Doesn’t cost more than $50/m, they have a limited budget and get about 2k visitors per month to their website.
Thanks for your help!

Chatbot learning recommendations?
Want to create a chatbot.
Saw the option of Google Dialogflow however – I dont want to put a payment plan.
So… any recommendations of how to learn how to create a chatbot where I don’t really have to key in any kind of payment options?
Any source material that shows how to create one where I can create one concurrently would be great! Especially if I don’t have to pay for any software where I create the chatbot in.

The Potential of GPT-4o as a Knowledge Base Bot is Insane
I tried GPT-4o and used RAG with various sources (PDFs, websites, text).
It’s just… insane. It’s more powerful than other models.
It answers any question well. Not only does it handle simple Q&A, but it also comprehensively analyzes sources to provide an answer.
While the previous GPT also provided good answers, it was frustratingly slow and not cheap.
I think GPT-4o has overcome all these issues.
It works perfectly with RAG. As long as you provide appropriate sources, it answers any question well.
I believe bots will mostly replace things like CMS and FAQs in the future.

Looking for a chatbot to help with creative writing (PDF uploads)
I like to write stories in my spare time as a hobbyist author, but I would like a chatbot that is able to handle large contexts in pages and have ‘pdf uploads’ and less waiting time so that it’s easier for me? I already tried ClaudeAI, but any free alternatives will do.

In case you’ve worked on some; what kind of agents have you built? what was the goal or purpose behind them? any challenges you faced?
