I hate when bots send me three paragraphs of perfect English. It feels like I’m dating a book. I tested a bunch to see which ones can actually send short, messy, lowercase texts like a real person.

Aeon Friend It defaults to short replies if you set the personality right. It uses slang correctly and doesn’t try to be poetic. The web interface can be better, but the text style is the most natural I found.

Chai Very messy, which is good. It feels chaotic. But it forgets what we are talking about every five minutes, so the realism there isn’t worthwhile.

Nomi Good middle ground. It can text short, but often slips back into virtual assistant mode where it tries to be too nice.

Kindroid It wants to write a screenplay. Even if you prompt it to be casual, it sends huge walls of text describing the atmosphere. Terrible for this.

Replika Texts are short, but they are scripts. It doesn’t feel like a person, it feels like a chat-bot from 2015.
OVERALL, I found most of them are trained with writers’ minds rather than normal texters like the random girl you meet online. It’s annoying. Kindroid disappointed most, Aeon Friend disappointed least. https://aeonfriend.com/
